Bees in the Himo Tree Nursery
A fascinating beekeeping adventure began at the Himo Tree Nursery: we discovered a colony of wild honey bees in the kitchen chimney, which formed the basis for a sustainable project. The bees were relocated to a beehive and at the first honey harvest they surprised us with 8.5 kilos of delicious honey that embodies the richness of African nature. A sweet success that unites nature!

Beekeeping in natural honeycomb
Our project promotes a learning effect on both sides through cultural exchange. We are developing effective beekeeping solutions in Tanzania that enable men and women from lower social classes to earn an income through beekeeping. On the German side, we benefit from ecological sustainability and learn how to beekeep in a more natural way. Together we are creating new perspectives!

Beekeeping as a development approach
The project 'Beekeeping as a development approach' supports vulnerable communities on Kilimanjaro through sustainable honey production. We promote local beekeeping and create income opportunities. At the same time, we are strengthening biodiversity and the ecological balance of the region. This approach is economically sustainable and socially equitable, with a focus on education and resource sharing.
