First honey harvest in Shimbwe

Honey and so on

So tasty!!

Together with the pupils of SIA Shimbwe Primary and Secondary School, we hung five beehives in the trees on the school grounds as part of the “All about Bees 2” project. Finally, in March 24, we were able to carry out the first honey harvest. The steep terrain in Shimbwe made this a real challenge in the dark. But together with some teachers from the schools, we managed to harvest a total of 13.6 kilograms of honey from three beehives. The proceeds from the sale will help the schools to supplement their tight budgets and thus make a contribution to good education.
